Who’s Talking About MS
Wednesday October 27 2010 12:04 PM
Well well well, the last 2 weeks have been uber busy in the MS READaTHON camp! As all our reading crew know, the reading period kicked off on the 15th October so there’s been a lot of excitement in the MS READaTHON office. Bundling up all your sponsorship packages, shipping out boxes upon boxes of MS READaTHON gear.. it’s been like Santa’s Workshop! To add to all this excitement, it seems that everyone wanted to talk to us, with two major publicity events being held in the same week.
For starters, Shannonside radio personality Joe Finnegan interviewed MS READaTHON spokesperson Anne-Marie Hayden who has lived with Multiple Sclerosis for 10 years, and despite all the obstacles has come out on-top. Anne-Marie used to do the MS READaTHON as a child, and now her own son Oisin is following in his mum’s footsteps by reading for this ‘wordy’ cause. Anne-Marie did a wonderful interview, showing what an inspiration and role model she is to all those around her. To hear her incredible story and learn more about Multiple Sclerosis and how she benefits greatly from your fundraising then click here to download the file.
Secondly, you may have caught MS READaTHON Manager Cheryl Gunning getting friendly with TV3’s ‘The Morning’ show presenter Martin King and some readers from Our Lady’s NS, Clonskeagh. Cheryl headed out to the Dublin school with Martin for a little chit chat with the kids, finding out what they like to read and seeing how confident they were about this year’s challenge – can you read your height in books? Would you like to see the TV clip?
We would like to say a BIG thank you to all those who are taking part this year. We are so grateful for all your fundraising and you should be very proud of yourself. We’re almost halfway there and we hope that you’re all as enthusiastic as ever and enjoying every bit of your reading escapades.
Finally, are you someone who would like to do the MS READaTHON, yet missed out on the starting date? Then not to worry, fill out our registration form and we’ll get you up and running in no time!
