67,000 children from the four corners of Ireland (and every nook and cranny in between) have signed up for this year’s MS READaTHON.  Isn’t that incredible!!  What’s more is that 730 schools have decided to jump on board too - that’s a monstrous 32 more than last year.  We’re over the moon!

It’s all about county spirit.. Up in Donegal, nearly 3,000 young people are reading and raising.  In Cork, 6,335 reading enthusiasts from 75 schools are up for the challenge.. while in Mayo participants from 38 schools add up to a fantastic 2,521 pupils. At the other side of the country, Wicklow has an astounding 2,658 kids from 24 schools getting involved.  So next time you snuggle up under your duvet, ready to dive into a parallel universe, or sit yourself down by the fire for some quality time with the book of the moment.. just think that maybe, just maybe 66,999 other children out there might be doing exactly the same thing!

While reading in itself is an extremely big part of this campaign, remember that every euro counts so make sure to encourage your nearest and dearest to sponsor you.  We are so excited about the response and cannot wait to find out how you all get on with your reading!  Good luck guys.. and we’ll be dropping in with another MS READaTHON update very shortly.
