Benefits for your school
The MS READaTHON is our biggest fundraising event and it is vital to maintain many of our core services to the MS community. It also has many benefits to the readers, schools and parents. A win-win situation, really!!
10 Good Reasons WHY My School should participate...
- The school will see an improvement in children’s motivation for reading.
- Not only do they read more books but they also learn the value of helping to make a difference to the lives of people living with MS in their community.
- A school has the opportunity to retain 10% of the funds raised for the purchase of books or reading aids.
- A school may compete for the three MS READaTHON 2011 school trophies: Primary, Secondary and Independent. These are awarded to the schools with the best combination of books read and money raised for the number of pupils in the school. In addition, thousands of euros worth of book vouchers will be shared between winners and runners up in each category.
- Schools may enter for the fantastic MS READaTHON Library Award: €500 library voucher. Just write to us nominating your school and tell us why you should win.
- All teachers participating will be entered into a draw for a free weekend break away.
- Any teacher can nominate a pupil who overcomes a particular intellectual or financial disadvantage for an award.
- All children participating in the MS READaTHON will receive a certificate of thanks
- Parents, too, are happy to see this reading activity.
