The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson follows Plop, a young owl scared of the dark. Through encounters with other animals, he learns that the dark is not to be feared but embraced. The story teaches kids about overcoming fears and the value of support from others. With simple writing and charming illustrations, it’s a timeless, comforting read for young readers. Plop, a baby barn owl, is afraid of the dark, so flies down and talks to lots of different people about the dark. I enjoyed the book and would like to read another of her books.
